How accounts work

One person, one account, however many institutions.

An account is you. What you may do is decided separately by each institution that admits you - so a student at one school and an examiner at another are the same login and never the same permissions.

01Sign up onceYour name, an address you can receive mail at, and a password of at least ten characters. Google and GitHub work too, wherever the deployment has them configured.
02Join, or foundSet an institution up and you own it. Follow an invitation link and you join with the role that was sent to you - administrator, instructor, invigilator or student.
03Move between themBelong to more than one and a switcher appears. Each keeps its own programmes, question banks, cohorts and grade scales, and none of them can read another.

An account on its own sees nothing. It begins to matter when it either sets an institution up or accepts an invitation to one.
